Hawaii Homeschool Support Groups

Homeschool support groups are organizations made up of families whose goal it is to help others during their homeschooling journey. Usually created and run by parents who volunteer their time, homeschool groups in Hawaii offer amazing opportunities for families throughout the state.

Although many homeschool groups are all inclusive and welcome families from all walks of life, there are also homeschool support groups that are faith-based or cater to families who follow a specific homeschool approach. All homeschool groups share in that they provide support and encouragement to families, host enrichment activities, field trips, workshops, and more.

In addition to regular meetings at specific locations, many Hawaii homeschool groups also have a strong online presence on Facebook and Yahoo Groups. This provides a convenient way to keep families up-to-date on news, special events, field trips, and more.

Below are some of the Hawaii homeschool groups you can learn more about.

Hawaii Homeschool Co-ops

In addition to homeschool support groups, families in Hawaii can also find tons of resources as well as enrichment classes by joining a homeschool co-op. Short for co-operative, co-ops are made up of families who come together with a shared goal of enriching their children’s learning experience.

Most co-ops offer classes on a number of subjects and unique topics, host special events like dances and graduations, and put together group activities like field trips. There is usually a fee involved with joining a co-op, and although schedules vary, most meet several times a week throughout the school year.

Homeschool co-ops also give parents tons of opportunities to meet other like-minded families. Whether your new to homeschooling or experienced, you’ll be able to seek and/or give advice, learn about different curricula and programs, as well as discover tons of resources and gain new ideas.
