Making Sense of Homeschooling Curriculum Costs

Homeschooling curriculum pricing can get confusing. You have “all-inclusive” homeschooling pricing structures, supplemental pricing structures (where you purchase individual subjects to help your children improve on certain areas of their education such as math), and more.

But most programs fit into one of five structures. These include:

A monthly subscription payment plan
Paying for individual modules such as workbooks or videos for certain subjects
Paying for individual courses, which usually includes all course elements
All-inclusive packages, which usually includes all materials for each course purchased
Semester or yearly tuition based packages

How Much Does It Cost to Homeschool with Time4Learning?

Time4Learning is based on a monthly subscription model. The cost depends on the level of the student. For PreK to 8th grade, the monthly membership cost is $24.95 for the first student and $14.95 for each additional PreK-8th student. For high school, the monthly membership cost is $34.95 per student, and includes four courses and any additional course is $5.00. A monthly subscription for students in grades K-7 also provides access to all instructional materials for the grade below and the grade above the student’s current level. Subscriptions can be started, stopped, and paused at any time.

How much does Sonlight® cost?

Depending on what you purchase, the cost of Sonlight® curriculum will vary extensively. For example, there are individual packages for history and other courses for each grade level that could go from anywhere between $100.00 – $190.00. You also have the option to purchase a “complete” package that includes your entire curriculum, books, and daily lesson plans that will cost roughly around $700. You also have the option to customize a package. The costs vary for each option, so it’s best to explore the options carefully.
