That’s why most every state in the country has at least one organization dedicated to not only supporting the rights of families to educate their own children but also to providing them information on any changes (or potential changes) to regulations that might affect their homeschool journey.
Missouri is fortunate to have one such organization, and on this page we will take a closer look at the Missouri homeschool association and its goals. We will also lay out some reasons why you might want to join an association in your state.
Families for Home Education (FHE)
According to the FHE website, the goal of Missouri’s state homeschool organization is “to protect the inalienable right of the parents of Missouri to teach their own children without state regulation or control.” Families for Home Education was founded in 1983 in response to challenges that families were facing with homeschooling freely in the state. It is not affiliated with any religious or political affiliation and support the rights of any family who chooses to homeschool in Missouri.
Members of FHE have a dedicated lobbyist that advocates on their behalf in the MO legislature. If you need contact information for any government official while homeschooling, the organization offers to help members connect with their legislators.
