Alcatraz Island – Families will want to make a day trip out of this historic destination that offers so many learning opportunities. An audio tour allows visitors to gain an understanding of what life was like for the infamous prison’s inmates as well as the guards who lived on the premises. You’ll also discover the role that the island had in Native American Civil Rights, and get a glimpse of the many bird species that call Alcatraz their home.
