Your Frequently Asked Questions Regarding the Price Increase

November 28, 2023

When will the price increase take effect?

For new members, the new pricing plan will apply starting December 7, 2023.

For existing members, the new pricing plan will become effective January 15, 2024 (or the date of your next billing cycle.) For example, if you pay annually for your membership and your account renews in July, you will not see the new price until you renew your membership. If you are on a monthly subscription, you will see the new price on or after January 15, depending on your billing date.

What is my new billing price on or after January 15, 2024?*

This answer varies based on the specific number and grade level of your students. The highest grade level student will be at the new price rate listed on the chart above. EACH additional student membership of equal or lesser value will receive a 30% discounted rate as follows:
PreK – 5th: $20.97
6th – 12th: $27.97

*plus any additional sales tax required by your state.

Is any action needed by me?

No action is required from you.

What if I make an annual payment?

If you make an annual payment before January 15, 2024, you will pay the current rate for your membership. Upon renewal, you will see the new price, expanded features, and additional courses.

Why has the middle school price increased so much?

From an education and development perspective, middle school learners are more aligned with high schoolers than those in PreK-5. By grouping middle and high school students together, 6-8 grade students can take a more robust course load, inclusive of electives, that will help set them up for academic success in high school.

Someone mentioned I could potentially save money at the High school Level? How is this true?

This is true! Current pricing is $34.95 for one high school (HS) student for 4 courses. Each additional course is $5 more per month. At today’s rate, one HS student with 7 courses costs $49.95*; two HS students with 7 courses = $99.90.*

After the new rates go into effect, one HS student with 7 courses will cost $39.95*. This is only $5 more than today’s rates, including THREE additional courses! And two HS students will cost $67.92* ($39.95 for the first student plus $27.97 for the second student at 30%.) This is a savings of $31.98 per month off of today’s rates with seven courses included for 2 HS students.

*plus sales tax required by your state.

My special needs student is middle/high school aged but learns at an elementary school level. What package should I select for them?

We recommend parents select the courses and grades that align with their student’s academic abilities and not their age.

My 6th grade student is at grade level for every subject except language arts. Is there a way they can take an elementary language arts course?

6th-grade students will continue to have access to multi-level grade access to math and language arts courses via the Student Dashboard.

Is there any financial help available?

Here are a few different ways to potentially save:

  • Several states now offer Educational Savings Accounts (ESAs) or similar programs that may provide funding for curriculum programs. Check out https://www.edchoice.org/ to see what options exist in your state!
  • Converting to an annual payment plan from monthly billing can save 10% off our current rates. Our referral program is an easy way to help offset costs.
  • By sharing your unique referral link found in your parent account with other families and friends, you can earn $25 for every completed referral. This is unlimited!
