Cost is one of the chief factors that families consider when choosing homeschool curricula. The average cost of homeschooling will vary from family to family, depending on things like how many children you are homeschooling and how many outside educational activities your students participate in. Knowing the cost of the primary programs you will use to teach, though, can go a long way toward creating your homeschool budget. Let’s take a closer look at Power Homeschool® (formerly Acellus Homeschool) cost vs that of Time4Learning to help you in your decision making process.

Making Sense of Homeschooling Curriculum Costs

The price point for homeschool programs usually depend on how they are meant to be used or how they are delivered. For example, since they don’t require many supplies, and can be started and stopped at any time, most online homeschool curricula are based on a monthly subscription model.

Full year curriculum packages that include books, teacher’s guides, and worksheets will instead be priced by package cost or tuition fees. Single-subject curriculum and supplemental materials, on the other hand, are usually purchased individually.

Most homeschool pricing models fall within these five categories:

  • monthly subscription fee (usually for web-based programs)
  • individual component purchase (such as textbook, video, download, teacher’s guide, etc.)
  • individual course purchase (usually includes all necessary materials for one course)
  • bundled package purchase (usually includes all necessary materials for one or more courses)
  • semester or yearly tuition (primarily for online schools)

Understanding these common options will help put things in perspective when you contrast Time4Learning and Power Homeschool® (formerly Acellus homeschool) cost.
