Time4Learning and ABCmouse® Homeschool Costs
When you are deciding on curriculum, one of the most important considerations for families is usually the cost. The average cost of homeschooling will vary from family to family depending on things like how many children you are homeschooling and how many extracurricular activities you sign up for. But knowing how much you will spend on curriculum helps you better plan your homeschool budget for the coming year.
Making Sense of Homeschooling Curriculum Costs
In general, the costs of homeschool programs are usually based on how they are meant to be used or how they are delivered. Online programs, for example, are most often based on a subscription model that you can start and stop as needed.
Full year curriculum packages that include books, teacher’s guides, and worksheets will instead be priced by package cost or tuition fees. And supplemental materials, or single-subject curricula, are most often bought on individual basis.
Most homeschool curricula are priced according to one of these five structures:
- Monthly subscription fee (usually for web-based programs)
- Individual component purchase (such as textbook, video, download, teacher’s guide, etc.)
- Individual course purchase (usually includes all necessary materials for one course)
- Bundled package purchase (usually includes all necessary materials for one or more courses)
- Semester or yearly tuition (primarily for online schools)
Understanding these common options will help put things in perspective when you contrast Time4Learning and ABCmouse.com® Early Learning Academy subscription costs.
