About the Cinema Series

Our Cinema Series is a new suite of professionally produced video courses created in former Netflix studios. The courses have been built to engage students through high-quality, modern content that mirrors how they consume media today.

Middle School Courses

Middle school offerings take a story-driven approach, blending cinematic storytelling with academic instruction to create immersive, emotionally profound lessons. These courses feel like a guided journey, where expert instructors help students explore complex topics using:

  • Professional-grade visuals and sound to capture attention
  • Dynamic editing and motion graphics to bring key concepts to life
  • Real-world examples to build relatable relevance and critical thinking
  • Clear, concise segments that match how digital-native learners process content

This format is grounded in research-backed pedagogy that supports greater comprehension, retention, and engagement.

High School Courses

High school content is built using a mature, masterclass-style approach — combining elevated lecture-based instruction with cinematic video, expert instructors, and modern visuals. The result is a learning experience that meets teens where they are, while building the independence and clarity they need to thrive.

Our new Cinema Series brings learning to life with beautifully filmed lessons that feel more like your favorite TV shows than traditional schoolwork. Passionate pre-recorded teachers, clean visuals, and engaging storytelling make each course exciting and easy to follow. It’s all designed with today’s learners in mind — using proven methods to help students stay motivated and understand what they’re learning.

Courses use cutting-edge response formats and auto-grading, and students can interact in fun ways through a variety of assessments, adventure games, and interactive reading tools. Additionally, feedback and scores are displayed immediately, allowing learners to see their progress in real-time. Compared to the older courses, which were more text-heavy and slower to update, the Cinema Series is a fresh, modern experience that’s built to connect with students and support their success.

Archived courses are older versions of Time4Learning’s curriculum that have been replaced by newer, updated content, like the Cinema Series. Once you switch your student to the new course, old courses will be archived. While they’ll no longer be available, families can still access the archived scope and sequence for reference.

As long as your account remains open, course progress will still be available in Custom Reports.

Lesson Experience for Students

Yes! Lessons can be skipped in the student dashboard or omitted in the Activity Planner. You’re truly in control of your students’ learning path.

It’s simple! Students no longer have to access two dashboards. Whether navigating through the Activity Planner or just the My Courses option, they can simply select the activity card and dive right into the next lesson!

The best part is that once a student completes an activity, they will immediately see their score and completion details!

Absolutely! Lessons are designed to work smoothly on most mobile devices so that learning can happen anywhere.

Yes, plus so much more! One of the benefits of the new Middle School and High School courses are the amazing array of new submission types. This includes text annotation, on-screen essay submission, graphic organizers, and more.

Each question in your child's online course will display a point value next to it—this tells you how much that particular question is worth toward the overall assignment score. As your child answers the questions, their score is calculated based on how many points they earned out of the total possible points.

Manual changes aren’t available, but students can retake assessments, and the lowest score can be dropped on their Custom Report. It’s all about growth and mastery!

As soon as a student uploads their work, our advanced system jumps into action and grades it instantly - no waiting required!

The Fun FAQs!

Totally normal. You’ve entered “The Learning Zone.” Just remind them to blink occasionally so their eyes don’t file a complaint.

It sounds like your student fell into a learning rabbit hole! Side effects include unexpected bursts of curiosity, binge-learning marathons, and a sudden desire to explain quantum physics at breakfast. Don’t worry—it’s harmless and mostly brilliant!

Not at all. That’s just “active participation.” Bonus points if they use a buzzer.

Applaud their dedication—and maybe get them a tiny graduation cap. Either way, we hope your student enjoys their new study buddy.

You don’t. You simply accept that the course has become their favorite show. Just wait until they start quoting it at dinner.
