What do You Teach in 12th Grade Social Studies?

Because most colleges only expect 3 years of social studies credits in high school, the 12th grade history course that your student takes is largely up to you. However, if your college-bound student has not previously taken at least US History or World History, be sure to include that missing credit this year. If all U.S. History and World History credits are complete, Time4Learning recommends combining our one-semester U.S. Government course with a one-semester Economics elective for a full grade 12 social studies credit.

  • Analyze major historical periods and how they shift over time among nations and cultures.
