Both my son and I were hooked
As a homeschooling mom, who is always trying to keep costs down when it comes to homeschooling, I am always searching for the “perfect” curriculum that offers everything that I want, need, and comes with a “perfect” price tag as well. I particularly look into the online curriculum’s as my children love the computer and know how to navigate on a computer really well. While there are lots of online curriculum’s available, they all come with a high price tag. Some online schools charge a tuition rate of up to $2000 for the entire year. While this may work for some families this was not going to work for our single income family who tries to stay on a budget. I was also not willing to pay for some expensive online curriculum that would prove to be a bad match for my son who has Autism. So thus began my diligent search for an online curriculum.
Three years ago as I was searching for an online curriculum that was not only budget friendly but was also possibly a good match for my son with Autism, I finally came across an online site called Time4Learning.com. This online site offers full curriculum, that is up to state standards, from grades prek through 8th grade. The site is set up with lessons that are arranged in order of how they are to be done which is very user friendly, even for my pre-schooler. The site also keeps track of all assignments that are completed by each child, grades them, and puts them into a report/grade book for you. You can then log in and generate a report for your child seeing all that they have completed and the grade that they received on it. If there is a lesson that you should feel needs to be re-done, you can simply look at what the lesson number for that specific lesson is and next time your child logs on they can simply type in the lesson number in the “enter code” box at the bottom left hand corner of the screen and be taken immediately to that specific lesson. As a parent you can also create a certificate for your child and even print out an enrollment letter that shows prove your child is enrolled in their online site. The site also offers a “playground” where the children can go in and play educational games after they have completed their lessons. A parent can also regulate how much time a child is allowed to spend in the playground and also how much time is spent on lessons. All this and more is offered at the unbelievable budget friendly price of $19.95 for your 1st child! I could not believe it! If you have more than one child to add, as I did, then each additional child is offered at a discounted price of $14.95.
So after finding this site and seeing all that they had to offer I still had to find out if this would be a good match for my son. After trying the online site for a few weeks (which by the way, they do offer a 14 day money back guarantee), both my son and I were hooked. Not only did he love the interactive site and all it’s rich content, he LOVED learning from the site as well and had no trouble keeping up or following along with a lesson. This sealed the deal for me and I immediately knew that I had found the “perfect” online curriculum for our family!
Not only have my children loved this site, but it has made homeschooling organization very easy for me as well! I don’t have to keep track of grades and do the pain staking task of writing them all down in a grade book. All the lesson plans and scope and sequences are also all ready written out too so that all I have to do is print them out. Another great feature to mention is that at anytime if you know that your child/children are going to be absent from the site for an extended period of time, like for 2 months of vacation in the summer, then you can easily make your account dormant and not be charged during those months that you are not using the site! Isn’t that awesome!
I could go on and on about all this site has to offer parents, such as blogs, and parent forums where you can connect with other parents, but it was just be better if you checked out the site yourself at Time4Learning and see with your own eyes what a budget friendly online curriculum it is that could very well be the perfect fit for your homeschooling family!
