Time4Learning Elementary Curriculum
Time4Learning’s elementary curriculum offers an online, interactive curriculum for K-5th grade that can be used for homeschool, afterschool, summer study, and skill building.
The elementary curriculum is organized by grade levels that cover a standards-based math, language arts, science, and social studies curriculum. Foreign language learning is also available for an additional fee. Lessons are designed to help students build confidence and work independently, all while at their own pace. Elementary students have access to three grade levels at a time to review and move forward when needed. Time4Learning’s elementary curriculum combines the technology kids love with the education they need to make learning fun!
Homeschooling Elementary with Time4Learning – A Curriculum Overview
Time4Learning can be used with a broad array of student types, learning styles, and homeschooling methods. The majority of the families using Time4Learning are homeschoolers. Some use it as their primary curriculum, while others use it to supplement or as part of an eclectic approach.
Time4Learning’s elementary curriculum provides math and language arts as its core subjects, and provides science and social studies as an added bonus. Foreign language learning is also available for an additional fee. The elementary curriculum is provided in an ad-free environment where students can focus on their lessons and enjoy our educational playground as a reward for their hard work. Time4Learning’s elementary curriculum is standards-based and designed to help students achieve reading skills, and a solid math foundation. The lessons are presented within an automated, student-paced system that teaches the lessons, reinforces concepts, time-stamps online activities (for attendance), tracks progress, and keeps printable reports that can be turned into student transcripts or included with homeschool portfolios. The lessons combine multimedia lessons, instructional videos, printable worksheets, quizzes, tests and both online and offline projects that focus largely on developing higher order thinking and writing skills.
Elementary language arts (K – 5th grade) focuses on phonics, fluency, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing processes and more. It is organized into two sections: Language Arts & Language Arts Extensions, which are recommended for use together. View our language arts curriculum overview page for more information.
Elementary and middle school math (PreK – 8th grade) is organized by grade level and includes lessons covering the concepts of number theory, value and meaning, measurement, geometry, number sense, geometry, spatial reasoning, data analysis, probability and more. View our math curriculum overview page for more information.
When homeschooling with Time4Learning, parents are considered the “teacher of record”, and the home from which they teach is the “school.” Time4Learning offers its members a suite of online tools, teaching resources, and homeschool support to help, but ultimately, it is up to the parents to review and grade their student’s offline lessons and writing projects, compare Time4Learning to their state standards, and make sure all graduation requirements are met.
It is also important to mention that Time4Learning is a curriculum provider– not a school. Therefore, Time4Learning cannot be accredited, nor can homeschooled students “graduate” from Time4Learning.
The Time4Learning Program Structure
Time4Learning has been refined through years of feedback from educators, parents, and students. Subjects are organized into chapters composed of interactive lessons, printable worksheets, quizzes and tests. Students are guided through the activities at their own pace by an automated system.
When students log in, they choose a subject, select a chapter, pick a lesson and complete the activities. A bright green arrow tells them where they left off, and completed work is clearly labeled with a check-mark or a gold star. Visual and auditory prompts guide students through the lessons, making it easy for even young learners to follow, and an online playground (controlled by parents) rewards and motivates them to finish their lessons.
Parents get access to printable lesson plans, teaching tools, detailed reporting and parental support through our online Parent Forum.
Does your child have different achievement levels for math and language arts? No problem! Time4Learning lets you set each individual subject at the appropriate graded level, making this program great for special needs and gifted students.
