And a prek math curriculum should cover all the math strands, not just arithmetic. The major math strands for prek curriculum are number sense and operations, algebra, geometry and spatial sense, measurement, and data analysis and probability. While these math strands might surprise you, they are all critical lessons for a prek math curriculum.

PreK math students collect, organize and display data, and are expected to answer questions about the information they collect. They gain an understanding of the basic concepts of probability.
