Show and Tell

If you have recently heard about Time4Learning homeschool curriculum, your biggest question may be: “What is it like?”  Well, I can tell you, OR I can show you.  But since I hate choices, how about both?

First, the telling.

Time4Learning is a homeschool parent’s dream come true.  I say that because the program is set up to be easy to use, and easy to track.  When a child logs in with their username and password, they are taken to their main launch pad screen.  Here is where they choose from the subjects for their grade level, and start their lessons.  If a child is using T4L as their core curriculum, and is working sequentially through the whole program, then there will be an arrow pointing to where the student is supposed to begin each day.  The arrow moves forward as the child completes lessons and activities.  Easy as pie!

Some lessons are completely animated and simply require the student to answer onscreen questions or click a “continue” button to move forward.  Other lessons are more text and picture oriented, and the student will click through the pages as though they were interacting with an electronic textbook.  Children can choose to read these text-based lessons themselves, or parents can enable a cartoon-character text reader to read the passages for the child.  This is especially helpful for children with reading-based learning difficulties.

This program lets children work rather independently through their studies, but if parents want to know just what their child covered each day, or even print out a weekly report of their lesson by lesson progress, they can do that through the Portfolio section of the Launch Pad screen.  I usually check my son’s work daily, to make sure he doesn’t need extra help in a particular subject, and then print out a full weekly report once per week.

Then, the showing.

As much as I love to talk about Time4Learning, you can only learn so much from another person’s experience.  So, I highly recommend that you see for yourself exactly what T4L has to offer.  Here are a few ways to do that.
  • Try out the demo lessons - these are some terrific samples of what a typical T4L lesson is like
  • Check out the hints and helps page - this will make clear how to navigate the program
  • Sign up for your 14-day risk-free trial -  because the best possible way to experience the program is by signing up, and testing it out for yourself.

Whether by showing or telling, I hope I have helped you understand a little bit more about the Time4Learning homeschool curriculum.  If you have been looking for an interactive, easy-to-use, academically stimulating program, then don’t pass up this opportunity to see how Time4Learning can work for you!
