What exactly is the Time4Learning service? TOP

Time4Learning is an online service that creates a daily structure for children's computer use providing a timed sequence of lessons and playtime. Time4Learning features sophisticated online instructional software usually available only through schools or expensive tutoring services. Hundreds of lessons, activities, and assessments are provided and best of all, the student is intelligently moved forward through the materials as they progress. After the child has spent the required time on the lessons, they can go to the Playground where they are allowed to play. The environment is safe, the educational value is solid, and the system is designed so the children do not need to keep asking for help. After the first week, even children five and under can usually use the system without assistance.

How much does Time4Learning cost? TOP

The monthly cost for membership is $19.95 for the first child. Additional children in the same family are only $14.95! Users can cancel at any time, there is no long term contract required. Time4Learning provides a complete 2 week money-back guarantee to all new members. The cancellation and refund policies are detailed in our billing policy.

How does a parent set the timers for the children's activities? TOP

A primary feature of the Time4Learning system is the automatic management of the children's time on the computer. Daily limits are established and enforced for the child's computer use. The Time4Learning system default is to require at least 15 minutes of LessonTime prior to going to the Playground. The default maximum amount of time in the Playground is 25 minutes. Parents can change these settings at registration or by logging in later. The parents can log in and change the settings while the child is on the system via the parents icon (responding to "Mom, can I have five more minutes in the Playground") or they can login separately. The settings can be changed for that day only or on a permanent basis.

How does Time4Learning compare with educational systems like Kumon? Huntington? Sylvan? TOP

Kumon, Huntington, and Sylvan are excellent traditional tutoring systems. Unlike Time4Learning, they require the student to physically attend sessions at their schools. The tutoring services are similar to Time4Learning in that they emphasize developing fundamental skills through an educational system which teaches and practices a broad array of skills. These systems all have an educational system which blends instruction, assessment, exercises, and supervision in a motivating manner which addresses a broad range of educational skills and issues. For instance, an educational system deals with the vital issues of correct initial placement of the student in the system and the ongoing management of the student's advancement through an appropriate scope and sequence of lessons and activities.
